School Uniforms

School uniforms has been a topic that has been very debatable as long as I have been in school. I think that school uniforms would be a good idea for any public or private educational system because that would eliminate one of the many factors that stray students' attention away from learning.
First, requiring students to wear uniforms would cut a lot of poverty issues that many families struggle with. Kids are mean, especially when it comes to materialistic things. If uniforms were require there would be a sense of equality throughout which I am all for.
Some may argue that if uniforms are allowed in public schools then students will no longer have a way to express themselves, which leads me to my favorite argument. Requiring students to wear uniforms will force them to express themselves through other ways such as writing, art, theatre, etc. There are so many programs in schools that have no limits for students but it is sad that some do not even realize or pay attention to the things that they are being offered because of material things such as clothes, shoes, and accessories.
Personally, most of the time I care about how I look and how I present myself. Every night I think about what I am going to wear, paired with the right shoes, the right jewelry, and the perfect hairstyle. Many times, especially in high school, I would spend more time on my outfit than I would any of my assignments. I know that if I were required to wear a uniform in school then that would no longer be an issue, I would not have the chance to make fun of someone for what they were wearing, and I could actually focus on the important things, and impress people with what I knew instead of how I looked.
Wearing school uniforms in public and private schools would be a very positive change to the school systems. I believe that academically, socially, and personally students would excel drastically, I am all for school uniforms!
